Creating and using a virtual box snapshot (revert back to a previous snapshot)
Create a snapshot
Wile the VM is running – pick Machine->Take Snapshot – be verbose in the description
Use the snapshotÂ
Make sure the VM is SHUTDOWN
Select your VM in the left pane of VirtualBox – you’ll see your snapshots in the right pane
This screenshot below is of a VM with snapshot while the VM is down – the ugly red arrow points at the “restore selected snapshot button” to revert to a previous snapshot / point in time.
Select restore selected snapshot icon – another dialog will popup to confirm the action – on this diaglog un-check the create another snapshot of current box – since likely it’s corrupted and you do not want it (do you?) you simply want to revert back to a previous.
Un-Check the “Create a snapshot of the current machine state” if you do not need the current state of the machine
