Uninstalling the new MSEdge

Tired of seeing Microsoft start their edge browser every-time you reboot or your computer wakes up without your permission?

Here is how to get rid of it.  Microsoft, just a hint, if you ever allow me to control when and where this browser starts I may begin using it… get a clue.

Note: your version number i.e. 89.0.774.63 will be different to just cd from top down

hint: just type command in the search field next to the startup button (bottom lower left)

Once in command window – Do this:

cd C:\Program Files(x86)\Microsoft\Edge\Application\89.0.774.63\Installer

Then this:

setup.exe --uninstall --system-level --verbose-logging --force-uninstall

I would add – there is no guarantee Microsoft won’t try to sneak it back on to you system in a system update again without your permission – so you may have to do this again

BTW – Using Setting->App->Uninstall was greyed out for edge – so Microsoft is not making it easy – but that just makes me more determined not to use it
