Here is how to tell if autovacuum is currently running.

SELECT datname, usename, pid, state, wait_event, current_timestamp - xact_start AS xact_runtime, query
FROM pg_stat_activity
WHERE upper(query) LIKE '%VACUUM%'
ORDER BY xact_start;

If you need to turn off autovacuum temporarily (don’t suggest leaving it off) here is how.

ALTER TABLE table_name SET (autovacuum_enabled = false);
