RMAN-06023: no backup or copy of datafile 1 found to restore
What’s the problem? For whatever reason the control file doesn’t know about where the backup is.
Solution: Tell the control file where the backup is. And no you don’t have to use a “rman catalog” to do this, this command will update the control file if “rman target /” is used to connect to only the database control file.
catalog start with ‘/u02/app/prod/backups’;
